whatcha reading (March)

A stack of books on a table. There are a few bookcases against the back wall with even more books.

It will surprise no one at all that I have many random pictures of books on my phone.

We’re here! It’s March. Snow, sun and slightly lighter evenings (thank goodness). I’ve also realised that each of these has seen me apologising and not really noting all the “non-books” I’ve read, so I’m going to try something slightly different this time. Not writing them all down (that would be madness, I really do read a lot of random things for various reasons), but writing down any that I found particularly striking or engaging. Also, this month appears to be the one where I read a lot of poetry. So with no further ado, here’s March:

  • Meet me at the Lighthouse- Dana Gioia

  • The Kaiju Preservation Society- John Scalzi

  • Independence- Chitra Bannerjee Divakaruni

  • Around India in 80 Trains- Monisha Rajesh

  • The Assassin’s Cloak: an anthology of the world’s greatest diaries-compilation

  • The New Education: How to Revolutionize the University to Prepare Students for a World In Flux- Cathy Davidson

  • A Wrinkle in Time- Madeleine L’Engle

  • Ten Thousand Stitches- Olivia Atwater

  • The Last Graduate- Naomi Novak

  • On the Art of Writing- Arthur Quiller-Couch

  • The Golden Enclaves- Naomi Novak

  • Arabella- Georgette Heyer
